STUDY GROUP - Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday beginning November 11, 2020, 7PM - 8PM via ZOOM

What is ASA

The American Sailing Association introduced certifications to the United States over 35 years ago. Today, with 350+ sailing schools worldwide and 536,000 ASA-certified sailors, ASA represents the largest and most trusted network of schools in the United States.

  • ASA 101, Basic Keelboat Sailing
Learn to skipper a 20' - 27' sloop-rigged keelboat by day, in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. Learn basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards.

The vision of TSSWS is to go through the ASA 101 Sailing Made Easy as a study group.  There will be no time limit for the study group, but when complete and coupled with Club Racing for Non-Racers, you will be well prepared to take the official exam and sailing requirements to pass with flying colors, if you choose to sit for the exam!

Or …. At a minimum, your sailing knowledge and skill level will be greatly improved!!
