During Tampa Sailing Squadron’s Labor Day Bash, we’re inviting our youth sailors to join the fun and compete against other young sailors in a Sunfish race!
Racers will also have open use of the Sunfish from 11:00 AM–12:30 PM for practice and recreational sailing before the race.
Youth racers and their families are encouraged to stay and enjoy all of the Labor Day activities, games, dinner, and festivities throughout the day!
DAY'S SCHEDULE
1100 – 1230 | Sunfish Open Sailing
Sunfish available for personal use and sailing practice.
1100 – 1900 | Flying Scot Open Sailing
The Flying Scot will be available throughout the afternoon for members to enjoy.
1200 – 1245 | Baton Boat Relay Registration
Grab a partner and sign up for the day's Sunfish challenge!
1300 – 1500 | Sunfish Baton Boat Relay
Teams of two compete relay-style around a designated sailing course. Sail out, return to the dock, and hand the boat off to your teammate.
Trophies, prizes, and bragging rights are on the line!
1300 – 1400 | KING/QUEEN OF THE PORCH

1400 – 1600 | Young Sailors Racing
Our younger sailors take to the water for their own Sunfish racing competition.
1st, 2nd & 3rd place awards!
1600 – 1800 | DINNER SERVED
Take a break from the competition and enjoy Labor Day dinner with your fellow TSS members, families, and friends.
1800 – 1900 | Boats Put Away
Help us get the TSS boats cleaned up, secured, and ready for their next adventure.
1900 – 1915 | Awards & Thank You
We'll recognize our race winners, game champions, volunteers, and everyone who helped make the day possible.
1900 – 2000 | Sailing Trivia
Test your knowledge of sailing, nautical lore, and — most importantly — TSS HISTORY!
1915 | OPTIONAL SUNSET SAIL
Boats can head out to catch the 1943 sunset for the perfect end to Labor Day.

SUNFISH BATON BOAT RELAY
Find a partner and get ready for a sailing relay with a TSS twist!
Teams of two share a Sunfish. Sailor #1 leaves the floating dock, sails the designated course, returns to the dock, and hands the boat off to Sailor #2.
Each sailor must board and disembark directly from the floating dock — taking a swim won't help your time!
Multiple rounds may be held depending on participation, with trophies and prizes for the top finishers.
